Life Along the Rideau Canal-Rideau Museum Music Series Sept-Nov

Ok, so here we are living along a World Unesco Heritage Site-not an honour bestowed on many! If you haven't indulged in the wonderful music series offered at the Rideau Canal Museum and want to enjoy some truly great music in a unique setting then read along!

The “Life Along the Rideau” Music Series is back with a bang and you do not want to miss this season’s line-up!

The Rideau Canal Museum is proud to welcome River City Junction to kick-off the “Life Along the Rideau” music series 2010, which debuts Friday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. River City Junction is a Blues/Rock band steeped long in the tradition of Blues & Classic Rock. Best described as Modern Classic Rock, they weave the styles of Blues & Jazz into a Rock & Roll tapestry that beckons the listener back to a time when music was a way of life.

River City Junction will be the first of three performances in the “Life Along the Rideau” music series. This amazing and affordable music series will also feature the musical talents of acoustic roots/blues band Hard Pushin’ Papa and country/roots singer/songwriter Brock Zeman. Concerts will take place at the Rideau Canal Museum on the last Friday of each month, from September through November.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with concerts beginning at 8:00 p.m. Beer, wine and refreshments will be available for purchase before the show and during the intermission. Tickets for this amazing fundraiser are available for $12 each. Season passes for all three shows are available for a cost of $30 each, and can be reserved by calling the museum at (613) 284-0505. The Rideau Canal Museum’s beautiful stone auditorium provides a unique musical experience, and by attending this event, you will be supporting a local community museum.

The Rideau Canal Museum is the flagship interpretation centre for the historic Rideau Canal – a Canadian Heritage River, a National Historic Site of Canada, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Museum is located at 34 Beckwith Street South, in Smiths Falls. Other upcoming fundraising events include a Wine Tasting event on October 23, and a scotch tasting on November 27.
