Yoga in the Park

I could not have asked for a better weekend for the launch of the summer Yoga in the Park series!

A gentle breeze was blowing in Stewart Park, Perth, as 14 yogis planted their feet on the earth and created the most beautiful sense of calm. There were novice and experienced practitioners, but that was irrelevant as everyone moved so beautifully together. Savasana, with the sound of the Tay River flowing in the background, was a delight for the senses as pure bliss radiated in the beautiful faces of those who attended.

On Sunday, on the banks of the Rideau Canal at Lower Reach park, 17 yogis came together to embrace the warm sun, beautiful scenery, creating an awesome sense of community. When everyone turned towards the canal during Warrior II, the energy was electrifying. Whether it was the sight of the water, the quiet of the earth under their feet, or the pure sense of empowerment radiating from their fingertips, I was struck by the synergy of the group. Wow-if we can create this sense of community and peace by simply existing in the moment, there is no limit to the potential for great things to occur.

Om Shanti!

Note: The Yoga in the Park series runs in Perth on Saturdays from 7:45-8:30 until August 7 and Smiths Falls from 8-8:45 on Sundays until July 27 (weather permitting).
